Seiko Watches Releases New "Spring Drive" Collection
Seiko Watches progresses watch making forefront
to a new level with its Spring Drive collection.
These limited availability watches feature a new
mechanical movement designed specifically for
this collection and although a spring is present
in almost all mechanical watches developed in the
past 3 centuries, Seiko have remastered the
technology by not on the industry standard theory
of mechanical escapement to record time.
Mechanical escapement is known for causing a
myriad of problems ranging from inaccuracy due to
wear of hairsprings and balance wheels,
maintenance issues and also size and weight
issues.
Seiko Watches latest innovation is based around a
specially designed alloy known as Spron 510. This
corrosion resistance metal winds into a barrel,
this part of the watch provides energy for the
auto winding system. The auto winding system used
in the Spring Drive watches is also unique in
that it contains Seiko's "magic lever" winding
system. Which simplistically reduces the amount
of parts to increase reliability and reduce
maintenances.
Seiko further increases the reliability of it's
Spring Drive watches by smoothing all components
used within the movements to reduce friction to a
minimum between parts in the movement and
therefore reduce the risk of damage.
Finally the Spring Drive provides a huge power
reserve, with our tests showing 72 hours of power
being generated from the auto winding spring.
This is over 30 hours more than the average
automatic or mechanical watch used in our other
tests.
The Seiko Watches - Spring Drive collection is
available from a limited number of outlets. To
